This was an idea that I’ve had in my head for a while now! I’m by no means the first person to think of tying the idea of getting married to ‘taking the plunge’ or ‘jumping in’ to a body of water, but boy was it fun to try to pull off! Brett and Melissa were so awesome to work with. When I pitched the idea to them, I really hoped they would take me up on it, although I had an inkling that they would… (we’re shooting their wedding in a few weeks, and part of their wedding package includes a trash-the-dress surf session the day after the wedding!) After an amazing morning of shooting beneath ancient Live Oak trees and Spanish Moss this was such a great way finish the day. For this part of the shoot I played director more than anything, with my good friend and fellow EBP photographer/videographer Jason Andre getting all of the underwater action. My in-laws were gracious enough to allow us free reign of their property and pool. From the very beginning, I had this picture in my mind of Melissa and Brett kissing in front of the single pool light, back-lit, and serene… we had to wait until nightfall to get it, but it paid off! Let me know what you think in the comments section below!
Thanks Josh! Wait till we post their Trash the Dress.. it was a surf session! Epic!
I know this may sound completely random, but I happened to stumble upon your blog from cycling through some of the featured photos on the GoPro Facebook page, and wow – am I ever happy that I did! All of your work is quite impressive! The themes you chose for this engagement session and the underwater captures are phenomenal. I’ve recently started to dabble in photography, and I just wanted to say that your work is inspiring. And I know this may not mean much, but you’ve got yourself a new fan from Canada! Keep up the great work!
Thanks man! It means a lot!!
