This has to be one of my favorite locations to shoot- Bald Head Island, and The Bald Head Island Club specifically, hosts some of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever shot. From the first time I met with Erin and Steve I knew I was going to love photographing their wedding. He’s got this natural charm and wit, and she was sweet, fun and stylish (the first picture in this post says it all!) Their Bald Head Island Club wedding was perfect- the day was gorgeous, the vendors were all A List and everyone had an amazing time. If you are in the process of planning a Bald Head Island wedding and are looking for inspiration, scroll down and I look forward to hearing from you!
Bald Head Island weddings at the Shoals Club are always gorgeous and Blaire and Ben’s celebration was no different. But honestly, this awesome couple could have gotten married anywhere and it would have been just as perfect. They had such a sweet admiration for each other and friendship that their love story was just the cherry on top. From the heartwarming ceremony to the dance throw-down reception this day had it all.. It was such an honor to be a part of this day along with all the other amazing vendors that helped make it perfect. Seriously, how cute are these two? Mark and Chrissy came down to Wilmington to photograph their engagement session. We had a great time exploring the beach and the surrounding area on this beautiful spring day. I can’t wait for their wedding in a few months! Leave a comment below and like us on FB here!
Now that many of our clients are out of state, with either them coming to Wilmington NC for their weddings, or us traveling to shoot their wedding- I figured it’s a good time to write a blog post to showcase one of our albums. More often it seems that our entire pre-wedding interaction is emails, phone calls and FaceTime! Pictures can always show what we offer much better than a jumbled explanation from me of how awesome your album will be!
The album company we use for our Lay Flat / Flush Mount collection is Leather Craftsman, and I can’t say enough about the quality of their construction, printing, and service! Incorporating learned skills from a fifth generation custom bookbinder, combined with the use of the best materials, Leather Craftsmen has been building wedding albums for nearly 70 years. The images are printed directly onto each page, and our design aesthetic is always clean, crisp, and timeless. We want your album to be an heirloom that you will cherish forever. Not something that will look dated in 10 years. To that end we like to keep things simple, and let your images take center stage! Enjoy-

This summer a few friends of ours started a Wilmington NC wedding videography company. We worked together on a number of weddings and here is a promo reel for a few of those. If you are interested in videography, let us know and we’ll be happy to send along their contact information. To get a feel for the awesome work they do, check out the video below!
If you like DIY-chic weddings, then look no further! MaryEllen and Nate were married at the Fragrance Gardens of Greenfield Lake just outside of Downtown Wilmington. This was my first time shooting a wedding here, and I must say, it seems like the best kept secret of Wilmington. If you are looking for a beautiful garden wedding, then you need to keep this venue in mind! Aside from the girls’ hair which was styled by the artists at Hypnotix, and the food catered by Culinary Creations, EVERYTHING you see was created by family and friends of the bride and groom. So much so that the flowers were clipped from the parent’s backyard. And the same cake topper sat atop the bride’s parent’s wedding cake 42 years ago!
I had such a hard time narrowing the shots down that I wanted on the blog. The light was great, and we were all having so much fun that I had to include all my favs. So what we have here is a giant blog post filled with great colors, wedding details, and two precious people. Congratulations MaryEllen and Nate!! If you enjoyed the images, let me know in the comments area below!
Wedding photography on Bald Head Island is like a little slice of heaven. Not only is it insanely beautiful (think the Hampton’s meets secluded southern island), but there’s also a tranquility that you realize as soon as you arrive. No cars are allowed, so as soon as you depart the catamaran that shuttles passengers back and forth, you can choose to walk, bike, or golf cart your way around. So fun.
Chanel and Devon came down from DC for their destination wedding, and looked like they stepped straight out of a magazine. Although their ceremony was beautiful, I really loved shooting with them afterward. I knew it was going to be good when a day before the wedding, Chanel emailed me to say that she fully intended to be in the ocean by the end of the day. Love this job. The light was too good as the sun set so we just shot and shot and shot. So great… and the ever-red soled Christian Louboutin’s?? Amazing! Let me know what you think in the comment section below!
