Get ready for a real show stopper of a coastal-rustic North Carolina wedding! Jamie and Daniel planned the perfect mix of southern class and low country ambiance. The ceremony took place inside of a small chapel in Holden Beach. From there, the bridal party made it’s way down the Intracoastal Waterway in boats to arrive in style at their outdoor reception on Windy Point. As it’s plain to see, everyone had such a great time, and we wish Jamie and Daniel the very, very best. It was an honor to document your day for you!!

For this rustic themed Wilmington bridal session, I went out on a limb and brought Pearl the chicken along. We were shooting in an old farm field with weathered buildings and cool, earthy details. It seemed like the perfect fit to me- luckily Jamie thought so too! Pearl hung out with us for the most part, but mostly just wandered around. Oh, and she even laid an egg in the basket while Jamie held her. I think they felt pretty comfortable with each other 🙂 I also shot B&W film to continue with the rustic theme. All the B&W’s you see were shot on 400 speed Kodak film- which when shot in bright daylight creates an awesome graininess in the image that is impossible get with digital- And looks completely timeless, in my opinion! Super big thanks to Social Butterfly Events, Verzaals Florist, and Hot Pink Cake Stand for all the awesome details! Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Being Wedding Photographers in Wilmington NC affords us some incredible locations, and this happens to be one of them. Melissa and Brett came down from Raleigh for this styled engagement session idea that I had pitched to them a few months ago. I wanted to do a take on a picnic setting beneath hundred year old Live Oaks covered with Spanish Moss and thick grass- totally southern! The day was to culminate with some dramatic underwater photography, as our intrepid couple jumped into the pool on the premises. (which they did, and can be found here) However, after editing all the images, it was just too much for one blog post. So we decided to break them up into a part 1 and part 2. Extra special thanks to the Hot Pink Cake Stand for baking up some of the most mouthwatering pies we’ve ever had, and to Fiore Fine Flowers for a truly incredible bouquet. Amazing! I can’t even wait to shoot this wedding in a few weeks. Leave a comment below!!
