This picture perfect wedding at Grace United Methodist Church and 128 South in Downtown Wilmington NC was amazing. Ashley had thought through every detail of the day and it turned out beautifully! I have the great opportunity to photograph a lot of weddings at the amazing Shell Island Resort. Although each year we find ourselves shooting all over the county, I absolutely love that a place like this exists right in our back yard, here in Wilmington NC! Brett, Lauren, and all of their guests were so much fun to work with. Nikki and Travis came down to Wilmington NC for there engagement session. We went out to a private piece of property that’s located right on the intracoastal waterway. It was the perfect spring day, and Nikki’s details added a really fun touch to the shoot! For this rustic themed Wilmington bridal session, I went out on a limb and brought Pearl the chicken along.  We were shooting in an old farm field with weathered buildings and cool, earthy details.  It seemed like the perfect fit to me- luckily Jamie thought so too!  Pearl hung out with us for the most part, but mostly just wandered around.  Oh, and she even laid an egg in the basket while Jamie held her.  I think they felt pretty comfortable with each other 🙂   I also shot B&W film to continue with the rustic theme.  All the B&W’s you see were shot on 400 speed Kodak film- which when shot in bright daylight creates an awesome graininess in the image that is impossible get with digital- And looks completely timeless, in my opinion!  Super big thanks to Social Butterfly Events, Verzaals Florist, and Hot Pink Cake Stand for all the awesome details!  Let me know what you think in the comments below!
