Sarah and Joey’s elegant and classic wedding was pure perfection, and everything I love about being a Bald Head Island wedding photographer. From start to finish, the timeless white and blue sailing motif combined with the incredible location (The Bald Head Island Club), and the over-the-top beautiful design by Design Perfection really set the stage for one fantastic wedding celebration. This wedding had it all- from a great bridal party, to an incredibly sweet wedding ceremony, all the way to the hand-rolled cigar station (?!?) at the reception. It’s always an honor to be a part of these incredible days! And make sure to check out the A-List vendors who helped make this day perfect below..

Tucked away in the back of Airlie Gardens is the Lebanon Chapel, one of the most picturesque spots for a Wilmington wedding. Jacqueline and Joey’s wedding was perfect right down to the last detail, thanks to Fiore Fine Flowers, who brought the couples ideas to reality. But even better than the beautiful design of this wedding day was their sincere and intentional love for one another. It’s one of the things I loved about them right from our first meeting. I wish them all the best- and hope for many, many amazing years together!
I loved everything about this wedding… from the people, to the countryside, to the homemade pies and deserts made by the mother of the bride, to the dried flowers and cotton, to the many musical happenings from the wedding party and father of the bride, to the (surprise) appearance of Asheville underground greats The Big Nasty Jazz Band, all the way to the squirt gun exit. This one had. it. all! If you like them, like us on Facebook here.
Now that many of our clients are out of state, with either them coming to Wilmington NC for their weddings, or us traveling to shoot their wedding- I figured it’s a good time to write a blog post to showcase one of our albums. More often it seems that our entire pre-wedding interaction is emails, phone calls and FaceTime! Pictures can always show what we offer much better than a jumbled explanation from me of how awesome your album will be!
The album company we use for our Lay Flat / Flush Mount collection is Leather Craftsman, and I can’t say enough about the quality of their construction, printing, and service! Incorporating learned skills from a fifth generation custom bookbinder, combined with the use of the best materials, Leather Craftsmen has been building wedding albums for nearly 70 years. The images are printed directly onto each page, and our design aesthetic is always clean, crisp, and timeless. We want your album to be an heirloom that you will cherish forever. Not something that will look dated in 10 years. To that end we like to keep things simple, and let your images take center stage! Enjoy-

This summer a few friends of ours started a Wilmington NC wedding videography company. We worked together on a number of weddings and here is a promo reel for a few of those. If you are interested in videography, let us know and we’ll be happy to send along their contact information. To get a feel for the awesome work they do, check out the video below!
Being Wedding Photographers in Wilmington NC affords us some incredible locations, and this happens to be one of them. Melissa and Brett came down from Raleigh for this styled engagement session idea that I had pitched to them a few months ago. I wanted to do a take on a picnic setting beneath hundred year old Live Oaks covered with Spanish Moss and thick grass- totally southern! The day was to culminate with some dramatic underwater photography, as our intrepid couple jumped into the pool on the premises. (which they did, and can be found here) However, after editing all the images, it was just too much for one blog post. So we decided to break them up into a part 1 and part 2. Extra special thanks to the Hot Pink Cake Stand for baking up some of the most mouthwatering pies we’ve ever had, and to Fiore Fine Flowers for a truly incredible bouquet. Amazing! I can’t even wait to shoot this wedding in a few weeks. Leave a comment below!!
