If you are looking for a rustic setting for your wedding or engagement session around Wilmington NC, Poplar Grove Plantation is one of the best! Lucy and Rob got engaged here a few months ago so right around Christmas we went back to shoot their engagement session here too. The plantation is about 15 minutes north of Wilmington on on Rt. 17 and is gorgeous all year round! It’s become one of my favorite places to photograph because of the great rustic/historic mix.

I loved everything about this wedding… from the people, to the countryside, to the homemade pies and deserts made by the mother of the bride, to the dried flowers and cotton, to the many musical happenings from the wedding party and father of the bride, to the (surprise) appearance of Asheville underground greats The Big Nasty Jazz Band, all the way to the squirt gun exit. This one had. it. all! If you like them, like us on Facebook here.
Crystal and Doug are quite possibly two of my favorite people… Easy laughers and so fun to hang out with! Of course it doesn’t hurt that we started the session off right at a local pub, but that’s neither here nor hgh human growth there… I also don’t shoot in Raleigh too often, so it was fun to get out and learn a new area!
This picture perfect wedding at Grace United Methodist Church and 128 South in Downtown Wilmington NC was amazing. Ashley had thought through every detail of the day and it turned out beautifully! Congrats to the newlyweds- we had a blast documenting your day!

I loved working with Abigail and Tony! This simple and sweet session turned out perfect. Plus they were in cowboy boots and brought a shotgun.. what’s not to love?? So enjoy, and please click here to go like us on Facebook. If we get to 1000 likes before the end of the year, everyone gets ice cream. My treat.
I have the great opportunity to photograph a lot of weddings at the amazing Shell Island Resort. Although each year we find ourselves shooting all over the county, I absolutely love that a place like this exists right in our back yard, here in Wilmington NC! Brett, Lauren, and all of their guests were so much fun to work with. The day was amazing, and we wish them all the best! I want to say a special thank you to Heather Healy of Port City Event Planners for all of the gorgeous design and decor! Beautiful job!
