This was an idea that I’ve had in my head for a while now! I’m by no means the first person to think of tying the idea of getting married to ‘taking the plunge’ or ‘jumping in’ to a body of water, but boy was it fun to try to pull off! Brett and Melissa were so awesome to work with. When I pitched the idea to them, I really hoped they would take me up on it, although I had an inkling that they would… (we’re shooting their wedding in a few weeks, and part of their wedding package includes a trash-the-dress surf session the day after the wedding!) After an amazing morning of shooting beneath ancient Live Oak trees and Spanish Moss this was such a great way finish the day. For this part of the shoot I played director more than anything, with my good friend and fellow EBP photographer/videographer Jason Andre getting all of the underwater action. My in-laws were gracious enough to allow us free reign of their property and pool. From the very beginning, I had this picture in my mind of Melissa and Brett kissing in front of the single pool light, back-lit, and serene… we had to wait until nightfall to get it, but it paid off!
