The Wellspring Initiative brings clean, filtered water to families desperately in need of water purification and storage in Cameroon, Africa. Whenever you choose to work with a company that has partnered with Wellspring, you are directly impacting families half a world away.
The word ‘wellspring’ is defined as a source of continual supply, and we wanted this idea to be at the center of this initiative. The filtration and storage systems we deliver can give clean water for a lifetime with very little maintenance. This will have a lasting effect on families for the rest of their lives.
Meet Pastor Zambo Salomon. He and his family have become our personal connection to the community of Yaounde, Cameroon. My parents had the pleasure of having him stay in their home during his last trip to the States. He is a man filled with purpose, energy, and deep longing to help improve the physical and spiritual lives of those around him. He tells us that the water situation where he lives is extremely difficult. The government will only turn on the water to the people’s houses twice a week, and even then, there is no schedule as to when this happens. Often times, it will be in the middle of the night, and for a very limited time. Everyone must rush to gather containers to collect as much water as possible, before the lines run dry. What they are able to collect is rarely enough to cook, clean, and bathe with until the next time the lines are opened. To make matters worse, there is always the possibility that the water is contaminated, and must be filtered to be considered potable. This is a very serious problem affecting hundreds of thousands of people. Our one and only objective is to provide filtration and storage systems to as many families as we can. These filters are low tech, require very little maintenance, and are one of the best answers to the problems facing the people of Yaounde. One of my favorite aspects of this whole project is that there is absolutely no overhead, or administrative costs taking away from any of the support given by each company that has chosen to partner with us. That means dollar for dollar, more filters are being delivered, and more mothers and fathers, daughters and sons will be drinking clean water. We understand that not everyone has the opportunity to connect with someone like Pastor Salomon, so we wanted to do everything possible to become good stewards of this relationship! The bottom line is this; when you hire, or do business with one of the companies who have partnered with the Wellspring Initiative you are giving new life to a people in need. Together, lives will be changed forever.
